The island has a coastline of 254 kilometers. The main ports are is Sami, Argostoli, which was the old natural strategic point. The bay of Myrtos in the North and in the South Kateleiou offer beautiful beaches that attract many visitors each year. The geological phenomena of the island is the cave Drogorati and limnospilaio Melissanis.
